Huda Beauty’s 3D Highlighter Palette Will Up Your Glow Game
When one of the world’s most prominent beauty influencers, Huda Kattan, launched The Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette many of us knew that we had your insta-ready dreams brought to life! And yes, forget everything you know about cheek shine, because this is a full-on kit – a kit that’ll take your highlighting game to a whole new level.
Well, to start with the beauty icon has launched two versions of this palette: a gold version and a pink version. The Pink Sands Palette is better suited for those with fair to medium skin tones, while the Golden Sands Palette is made for medium to dark skin tones. Each palette includes four beach-inspired shades with two different formulas. There a prep, set, sculpt, and flush shade in the kit, which Kattan calls Melted Strobe. When used in a certain order it gives a blended, 3D dimensional look, instead of a harsh line cutting across the cheek. Plus, the palette even includes a bronzer and a blush. Now that’s highlighting and contouring all rolled into one. Woha!
The act of sculpting all over your face by using concealer, corrector, bronzer, and highlighter is quite an exhausting task to say the least. Using highlighter to create a chiselled yet dewy complexion is the call of the hour in makeup world, and we cannot agree more with Huda Beauty’s newest launch. While it cannot completely replace your whole contouring routine, many beauty gurus opine that by aesthetically placing your illuminator at right points of your face you can sculpt your cheek, plump your lips and giver a slimmer illusion to your nose.
To create your own highlighted look every single time, you can mix an illuminating liquid with your foundation to give your complexion an all-round 3-D effect. While a balm formula is easier to control than powder, always look for products with subtle shimmery particles and a dewy-reflective finish.
Best technique to apply a highlighter in the most organised manner is to stand under a bright light while gazing into the mirror. All the places that are catching direct light on your face is where your highlighter should go. You can go for maximum highlighter for defining your cheekbones. Apply highlighter in a diagonal line from just beneath the center of your eye socket up towards your hairline, and blend. (creating a teardrop shape). Apart from that, go down the centre of the nose, in between the brows, on the centre of the forehead, and right above your Cupid’s bow for a Kylie Jenner plumed pout inspired highlighter placement.
Anther pro tip would be to add a slim layer of shimmer luminiser right at the fag end of your eyebrow arches – this technique will beautifully accentuate your eyebrows, giving your face a younger, fresher and an uplifted look.
