Beauty Hacks Every Girl Should Know
Let’s face it, everyone wants to know every trick of the trade especially when it comes to beauty. We all want to know those magic tricks that make our life easier when it comes to everything related to makeup, hair and skincare. If you think you already have a bag of beauty tricks, we’re here to make that bag bigger and better! We bring you a list of 6 life-changing beauty hacks this week that promise to make your beauty game strong.
1. Minimise your pores before you apply your base
Think your primer doesn’t do the trick of minimising pores? Well the product in your freezer should surely do the trick. Gently rub ice cubes over the areas where the pores appear to be visible and see the difference. I know it’s extremely cold and painful but the ice cubes will beneficially tighten the skin up hence minimising the appearance of pores.
2. Tame your brows
We all have those days when our brows behave badly. Few stubborn strays always stick out no matter how much brow gel you coat on them. All you need to do is put a little hairspray on your spoolie end brush and set your brows with that. We guarantee your brows will stay put all day!
3. DIY Contouring Brush
Not all of us want to spend a fortune on makeup brushes so it can be a bit difficult to try techniques that require certain tools, such as contouring. But don’t worry if you don’t have the perfect contouring brush because you can create one for yourself by using a bobby pin and a powder/blush brush. Take the pin and put it in the middle of the brush and slowly slide it up. This will pinch the bristles to form a thin, long end and help you contour your face just like a Kardashian.
4. Save your dead felt tip Liner
Has the tip of your felt tip liner become extremely wonky and doesn’t give you that precise line anymore? There is a way to rescue your felt tip liner and get a few more uses out of it! Some felt tip liners have a double ended tip, so take the tip out, turn it over to the other side, push it back in and you have a brand new tip again! There’s probably more product that came on this other side of the tip since it was inside, giving you a few more uses out of the felt tip liner.
5. Tee-Shirt dry your hair
If you’ve been towel drying your hair all your life, you’ve been doing it wrong. Terry-cloth towels suck way too much moisture out of the hair leaving it tremendously frizzy. Use a simple cotton tee-shirt to dry your hair as the smooth material pulls just the right amount of moisture from the hair without leaving it dry and frizzy.
6. Green Tea therapy for tired eyes
Do your eyes look tired even though you ensure to get your beauty sleep every single day? Use green tea bags to get rid of any puffiness around the eyes. Dip two green tea bags in hot water for 2 minutes. Take them out, place them on a plate and put it in the refrigerator until they’re cold. Take the tea bags out of the refrigerator, squeeze out the excess water and place the chilled tea bags on both the eyes for 15-20 minutes. The caffeine in the tea bags will help shrink blood vessels around your eye, thus reducing puffiness and dark circles.
