Milan Fashion Week Fall 2018: Backstage Beauty Report
Milan Fashion Week can always be counted on to offer up some outrageous styles — both on fashion and on faces. And this season was no exception, with beauty looks that ranged from gorgeous to downright artsy. Here, we’ve rounded up some our favourite backstage beauty looks — from the winged eyeliner to the neon eyeshadow and dishevelled hair. Scroll through to see them all.
1. Exaggerated eyes
There’s nothing we love more than some seriously experimental makeup and the artists for the Prada and Antonio Marras shows had serious some fun with the eyes — from bejewelled additions to ombre smokey looks, these eyes were nothing short of dramatic.
2. Doll face
Dolls came alive on the runway at Milan when these models sported some gorgeously pink cheeks and blue eyeshadow to go with their Barbie-esque appeal.
We love watching models turn into rockstar groupies backstage and this season, the models delivered punk rock attitudes through their tresses. Think roughly tousled and unkempt!
4. Gothic claws
Muddy browns and pitch black nails are back for the next season to help you unleash your inner gothic goddess.
5. Retro Hair
50’s style retro pin up curls and Jackie Kennedy waves came back in style at Milan’s top shows.
6. Chocolate hues
Rather than the usual black smokey eye or eyeliner, we saw some chocolate browns on the eyes alongside some metallic bronze looks that were nothing short of inspiring.
Unkempt buns and loosely tied top knots took centre stage contrasted against the dainty ensembles at Milan Fashion Week.
8. Feline flicks
Minimal simplicity inspires us more than we’d like to admit. Cat eye flicks were a sight for sore eyes backstage at the Dolce & Gabbana and Les Copains shows.
9. Tribal eyes
These makeup artists proved that tribal makeup isn’t just restricted to that of face paint and facial tattoos. These eye makeup looks were equal parts tropical and tribal.
