Re-create Shilpa Shetty’s Fierce Eye Makeup From The IIFA’s 2017
Ageless queen Shilpa Shetty Kundra strolled down the 2017 IIFA green carpet the past weekend in many styles and left us all with quite the hangover! She took our breath away in a Monisha Jaising thigh high split molten rose gold lamè gown that gave her legs for days — suffice to say we could all just dream to look this good after we reach motherhood! However, it wasn’t just her dress that had us swooning, her jewel toned eye makeup paired with the perfect nude lip was just as much a sight for sore eyes.
To accentuate Shilpa’s rose gold dress, it seemed as though celeb makeup artist Mehak Oberoi was channelling a vampire vixen look… feminine yet gothic, sultry and really sexy. It’s the perfect look for a night out, no matter the season and we’re here to help you recreate and master this smouldering style.
To start with, smooth on a thin layer of M.A.C Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage primer over your skin.
Then, proceed with the application of a dewy finish foundation like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24h Foundation with a beauty blender, buffing in circles until the coverage looks even and seamlessly blended.
Tap a small amount of L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD concealer under the eyes to conceal any darkness.
Eyes on the Prize
If you don’t have an eyeshadow primer, the beauty hack that always works is to use the same under eye concealer for your lids as well to help keep the eyeshadow intact and even out the skin tone around the eyes. Now apply some M.A.C Velvet Eyeshadow in Sketch all over the entire lid with a flat applicator brush for that femme fatale burgundy shade.
To define the eyes you could use a chocolate brown shade like the M.A.C Matte Eyeshadow in Embark to give your peepers a little depth using an eyeshadow blending brush.
Feel free to add some more drama to the look by defining your lower lash line with the same matte shade used on your lids along with a nude coloured eye pencil to line the water line and make your eyes appear brighter and bigger.
Finish off the eye with a stroke of highlighter on the brow bone with a blending brush and a ton of mascara. Only fill in your brows if necessary, with a shade this strong you don’t want to go too dark with your brows.
Go and glow
It is advisable to go muted and subtle when it comes to your lip and cheeks when wearing such a striking colour on the eye. Opt for an apricot shade blush like the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush in Rave with an angled brush and work your way up to the cheekbones.
Finally pay attention to your lips with a perfect nude shade like the NYX Professional Makeup Matte Lipstick in Euro Trash for those sultry pillowy lips.
