Of the many classics, the one that has undoubtedly stood the test of time is that of the floral motif. Be it prints or embroideries, ethnics or westers, the motif has been as intrinsic a part of fashion as the word itself. And for the past few seasons, bold florals seem to have been enjoying a prime position in every it-girl wardrobe, irrespective of the season. Now place this bolder version of the trend with yet another equally loud trend, aka, busy prints, and you have your self a risky yet fashion-winning look, as Deepika Padukone recently demoed.

Here take a look…

What She Wore

Like all her other looks, this one too was styled by Shaleena Nathani who decided to go dressy for the night in a what was easily a beautiful set of separates. Shaleena picked out a crisp white Zara shirt for Deepika and teamed it up with a multicoloured skirt by Sabyasachi that featured bold and busy florals.

Shoes & Accessories

Deepika’s pretty separates were accessorised with a  pair of huge, floral studs that added a slightly retro vibe to the look. The actress then elevated her frame with a pair of classic black Christian Louboutin pumps.

Hair & Makeup

Deepika’s long, straight hair was left down with a severe centre-parting by hair stylist Anil C and her look was rounded off with nude eyes and bold oxblood lips by makeup artist Georgiou Gabriel.

Trust us when we say that busy prints are not as easy to work as our style stars make them look, especially one with motifs as bold as that of Deepika’s skirt. That said, there are always a few tricks to pull them off with effortless panache and teaming your busy prints up with solids (white in this case) is one of them as Deepika very graciously demoed. We wouldn’t change a thing about this fab look.
