Manav Gangwani & Kangana Ranaut Spell Magic On-Stage At The India Couture Week
The past week has almost brought heaven to earth for every fashion lover, thanks to the fashion Gods for their very generous displays at the recently held India Couture Week that took place in the capital. The last day of the fest saw one of the most exuberant and ostentatious collections of all… Manav Gangwani’s Mughal-inspired ‘Begum-e-Jannat’ collection which is an ode to Zainab Neduo Patel, a close friend of the designer’s.
Living up to its name, the collection saw some of the most flamboyant designs that were laid across a bright colour palette comprising of whites and blacks and blues and reds. Ruffles, layers, intricately embroidered traditional motifs and fine mirror work were the reigning elements of the royal collection that showcased beautiful lehengas, elegant sarees, gorgeous gowns and much more.
And what added to the grandeur of the show was its super gorg showstopper, Kangana Ranaut who was styled by Ami Patel. The actress sported an intricately crafted, mirror worked blouse and a maroon and golden, fine embroidered lehenga. She aptly teamed up her royal attire with a heavy necklace, a huge maang tikka and her don’t-you-mess-with-me attitude looking like the ultimate Mughal empress.
The highlight of her look, however, were the artfully parted, long curls styled by Haseena Shaikh that Kangy wore like a crown. After the uber chic bob the actress has been sporting for several weeks now, it was a very pleasant change to see Ranaut’s dangling, long curls.
Her make-up by Albert Chettiar added the right amount of drama to her overall appearance.
