Come party season and we are instantly bombarded with several bling metallic stunners either by way of sequin or other embellishments or by way of the fabric itself. But, as a general rule, nothing about the metallic trend has ever been subtle or lowkey. That, however, was not the case with Shilpa Shetty’s version of the trend which was just as minimalist in approach as it was elegant and beautiful. The actress recently marked her presence at an award event looking her chicest best.

Here’s a quick lowdown on Shilpa’s sharp turnout…

What She Wore

For the event, Shilpa was styled by Mohit Rai, who, we know has an eye for understated elegance. Accordingly, Rai picked out a crisp white trench maxi for the actress from Rajesh Pratap Singh’s eponymous label. The flowy white number was adorned with splatters of gold here and there giving the outfit a dressy appeal.

Shoes & Accessories

With her outfit, Shilpa stepped into a pair of contrasting black heels and accessorised her look with a bold, statement ear-cuff from Anomaly by Anam and a statement ring from the same label to go with it.

Hair & Makeup

Unlike her prefered style of letting her two-toned locks loose, Shilpa had them pulled up in a high bun by hairstylist Sheetal F Khan. Though, the latter did leave a few loose tresses to keep the look from being too severe. Makeup artist Ajay Shelar rounded off Shilpa’s look with strong brows, smoky eyes and nude, creamy lips.

Verdict

It’s not that we have anything against bold and bright metallics, it’s just that after too many of them Shilpa’s low-key version of the trend came as a pleasant and refreshing change, one we did not know we needed. While the outfit itself is contributing to one half of the look’s success, the moderate accessorisation also deserves due credit as do the hair and makeup. That said, we personally, would have prefered a nice bold lip with this ensemble, maybe a bright cherry or even a goth berry.
