All The Stylish Trends We Spotted At London Fashion Week’s Fall 2018 Shows
Just like New York, London fashion week delivered a host of trends we can’t wait to embrace. Continued themes of colour blocked contrasts and checkered patterns prevail, while metallic and iridescent looks are making their mark along with an abundance of pastels and neons. Of course, it wouldn’t be London without some creative and avant-garde fashion! To give you a taste of what’s to come, we’re sharing all the looks we’re loving, from camel coloured hues to slogan tops (yes, they’re still trending) and a whole lot more.
1. Tartan checks
The traditional Scottish checks ruled the runways this season in its statement red charm.
Classy, chic and sophisticated — one of fashion’s most favourite checked pattern made its resurgence at London Fashion Week recently and we just can’t wait to embrace some houndstooth for ourselves.
3. Bold stripes
Just when you thought the whole stripes movement was bogging down, think again. The linear pattern came alive making a bolder statement this time around.
Nothing brings on glamour to an ensemble like some fringe and these designers know it all too well.
5. Sequinned sirens
Metallics came alive on the runway in the form of chic sequinned looks — each one more glamorous than the other.
Mom jeans are evidently back and designers are doing they’re very best to make it look chic. Whether its denims or trousers, our waists are beginning way up top this fall.
7. Matrix reloaded
This hot trend threw us back to the Matrix movie series when wearing all black everything in leather was hot — these dames looked like they were on a mission to kill.
8. Statement collars
Collars gained some serious personality this season at London Fashion Week. From embellishments to elongations, collars are literally ‘huge’ this season.
9. Desert camel
The brown colour movement began in New York when mocha hued shades came about on the runway. At London, the brown bug continued when camel colours took to catwalk looking just as chic.
10. Expressive ensembles
2017 was the year of the slogan tee — this season, its all about slapstick messages with major subtext.
11. High contrasts
There’s nothing we love more than a good fashion juxtaposition. At London, the designers were mixing up colours and patterns like no other and the results were nothing short of chic.
