Global Glamour Defined Ridhi Mehra’s Exquisite Collection At Lakmé Fashion Week
Contemporary, chic and glamorous — these are the three traits that instantly come to mind when we think of Ridhi Mehra’s wares. This time around, she combined five global cultures that have previously inspired her collections to form ‘Cinco’ — a stunning amalgamation of those cultural accents.
The spectacular looks were a fusion of Islamic, Indian, Spanish, French and Chinese art forms that were rendered with a high level of workmanship. The silhouettes were formed through a mixture of Japanese and Indian Mughal prints. The stunning show came to a close with Bollywood beauty Pooja Hegde, who walked down the runway in a show-stopping white skirt and grey tassel embroidered bodice.
Apart from the five nuances that inspired Mehra’s collection, we spotted five hot trends from her range that are worth your attention…
1. Cyan blues
Proving that show-stopping colours don’t have to be loud or jewel toned, these cyan blue looks were like a breath of fresh air in a collection full of sombre hues. The kediyu flared topper on the saree had a resplendent charm of its own as well as the fringed layer between borders on the dress.
2. Muted lilacs
While bright blues popped on the runway, muted tones of lilac held their own claim amidst the looks. Accentuated by tassels and fringe, these ensembles were absolutely divine.
3. Printed prêt
Chinoiserie and Islamic motifs were blended to create these pretty printed looks. Feathery plumes were a noteworthy accent throughout the show.
4. Fresh pairings
Ridhi switched up her lehenga pairings with classic French shirt blouses and semi sheer cropped toppers that helped create a fresh and contemporary take.
5. Fringe benefits
Outfits that have movement are always memorable. The heavily fringed jackets exuded glamour without overpowering rest of the look.
Immaculately tailored with an ethereal quality, Ridhi Mehra’s collection was a noteworthy one to watch out for.
