Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018 Day 3: Trend Spotting, Appearances

The third day of Lakme Fashion Week was filled with some really stylish moments — from cocktail sarees to glitzy metallics and some feminine florals! With statement making trends like these, we can’t help but feel inspired.

1. 50 shades of blue

Designers had taken a certain fondness to this celestial hue on day three — whether midnight blue, cerulean or aqua, the royal shades were everywhere and sometimes even in monochrome form.

2. Collared chic

This trend seems to be a mainstream hit with all the designers as day two also saw some collared contraptions. Yesterday however, the collars seemed to have two personas — one delicately girlish and the other sharply exaggerated.

Hues of blue weren’t the only shades on the horizon at day three, sumptuous ivory tones also took over the catwalk with air of freshness.

4. Embroidered florals

The summer trend list isn’t complete without a noteworthy iteration of bright florals. This time around they were paid focus with delicately embroidered details as compared to an otherwise overpowering feel.

5. Draped dames

There’s nothing we like more than to see an Indo-Grecian influence in fashion. Drapes made waves on the runway yesterday, whether it was dhoti bottoms, pants or a skirt.

6. Shirt dresses

If it’s a trend that’s universally flattering, we’re all for it! Shirt dresses were a rather refreshing trend to spot on the runway especially since they’re summer appropriate and can be styled in a multitude of ways.

7. Feathers & fringe

We love it when a mainstream couture trend meshes with ready-to-wear pieces — we’re talking uber glam feathery plumes and fringe that add some serious drama to an outfit.

8. The cocktail saree

This is the one Bollywood trend we love watching get reinvented on the runway. Bedecked with either embroidery, plumes or fringe, this trend is getting pinned right on top of our mood boards for summer weddings.
