Lakme Fashion Week 2016: Feminine Silhouettes With A Twist At Chirag Nainani

by Kiran Kaur

Chirag Nainani who presented as a Gen Next designer in Lakme Fashion Week last season has already managed to grab a lot of attention from the industry. His signature tie and dye techniques and easy silhouettes through asymmetrical dresses and high-low peplum tops have been an instant hit. With his latest collection Coup De Grace, which he presented at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016, the designer brought forward a unique blend of feminine silhouettes with a touch of masculinity, and that too surprising grace.

The designer maintained his tie and dye style with this collection as well, using a palette that shift from monochromes to earthy tones of moss green, blue and deep wine. The designer showcased modern silhouettes with a hint of masculinity. Nainani materialised his vision by teaming up heavily-paneled midis, shirt dresses, capes, kalidaar peplum tops, swirling skirts with elements like giant lapels, ties and belts.
