Lakme Fashion Week 2016: Funky Motifs On Sporty Chic Outfits At Ekam

by Kiran Kaur

The runways of Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2016 have given us a hell lot of style inspiration. So far we’ve seen contemporary and casual, eclectic and classic styles too. Day 3 has thrown in a dash of ‘sporty’ to the lot, all thanks to Ekam’s latest collection.

Trend Alert

Having taken inspiration from the kimono, designer Armaan Randhawa incorporated Japanese motifs like the red sun in several designs. With twin lions being the running motif, the Frida Kahlo illustration and floral motifs also made a few appearances. Though the motifs were limited, the collection gave a wide range of contemporary cuts including capes, jackets, trench coats, midis, skirts, tracks and crop tops. Adding an edge of sportiness were the over-sized sleeves and the polo necks that stayed as a constant throughout the collection.

From Ekam’s Japanese-inspired line, it was easy to spot our favourites — one each for men and women. And trust us, both being blue is just a co-incidence and not a bias towards the colour.
