Among the attendees, Pernia Qureshi made quite an appearance in the designer’s bold dramatic black silhouette. Her dress featured an elaborate silver floral bloom on one sleeve and hand-crafted patterns covered the overall in asymmetry. Black straps, a matching clutch and sleek hair-do rounded out the look. And, we must admit, she looked stellar!

Setting the right mood for weather, ace couturier Rahul Mishra unveiled his collection that redefined new-age bridal wear. His collection brought the freshness of monsoon, floral bloom and revitalizing outfits. Rahul dedicated his line to nature and with chirping of birds, flowery effect and fragrance of rains, the collection made everyone nostalgic about rainy memories.

His line seems to have inkling with German biologist and artist Ernst Haeckel’s work Kunstforemen der Natur”.

The colour palette of the Rahul’s work is the most intriguing part. For a bridal collection, his choice of colours stood out from his contemporaries. He smoothly escaped the reds and maroons and picked invigorating hues like navy blue, white, beige, peach, pink, pearl and black.

Keeping the rest hand technique and artworks alive, Rahul’s intricate work on each garment was a sight to behold, as the 100 per cent hand-woven haute couture range stunned the audience with its magical spread. More than 250 artisans worked on the line for last four months to put up the brand show

‘Monsoon Diaries’ witnessed all-embracing use of traditional Indian fabrics like khadi, chanderi, organza, silk, chiffon, gerogette and Maheshwari. All these fabrics and hand-woven craftsmanship made this ultra special for new-age brides. The silhouettes of the line are edgy, sharp and fun at the same time. Rahul marked his signature style through cutwork in patterns like lotus, humming birds and other flora and fauna.

Long anarkali, to layered kurtas and from chiffon sarees to patterned garbs, everything that you need to see a traditional wedding with a twist was at show. Ace designer Manish Malhotra, Anju Modi, Ritu Kumar and Samant Chauhan were seen gracing the event and cheering for the designer.
