Gigi Hadid’s Beaded Sandals Make Her Shiny Leather Separates Even More Irresistible
At 22, Gigi Hadid is already a fashion favourite with a collaborative apparel line with Tommy Hilfiger (Tommy x Gigi), a shoe collection with Stuart Weitzman (Gigi Boots) AND has a an eyewear range with Vogue Eyewear, Gigi Hadid for Vogue Eyewear. This last one is the latest addition to her seriously long list of achievements. The supermodel attended the launch of this collaborative collection yesterday in New York and as was expected of her, her style statement grabbed way more attention than the collection itself.
Days after America celebrated the National Pink Day (on June 23rd), Gigi Hadid decided to school the world on working a head-to-toe pink look in the prettiest, yet edgiest, way possible. Here take a look…
What She Wore
Looking like a life-size Barbie, Gigi was seen sporting a shiny leather separates comprising of a pair of bell bottom, high rise pants and a cropped jacket featuring a dramatically long fringe embellishment from Kreist‘s Fall 2017 Ready-to-wear collection. Layered under her jacket was a baby pink (seemingly corduroy) tube from the same label. Her look was, obviously, put together by her stylist Mimi Cutrell.
Shoes & Accessories
Like we said, the diva worked an all-pink ensemble and that includes her shoes and sunglasses (from her own Vogue x Gigi collection of course) too. Okay, technically the sunglasses are red-tinted but then the two hues belong to the same family, don’t they. As for her footwear, Gigi stepped into a pair of pink, pearl-embellished, Aquazzara heels that made her already long legs seem never-ending.
Hair & Makeup
Unlike her usual bold eyes, makeup artist Erin Parsons gave Gigi mild, smokey eyes with just a hint of pink and painted her smile in a nude brown shade, probably to compensate for her bold sartorial pick. Her blonde locks were left down with an off-centre parting and styled, by Laura Polko, in glamorous waves to bring out her supermodel charm.
Shiny leathers might not be everybody’s cup of tea but the elder Hadid sister sure is making a strikingly strong case in favour of the trend and also of the colour. For anyone who thought pink was a feminine colour, they obviously had not seen Gigi working this ensemble. Yes, it is still feminine, only if feminine represents edginess, power and strength. Hadid just took her supreme style domination to a whole new level with this outrageously glam avatar.
